As part of the schools rigorous assessment procedures this year all students will sit at least 3 assessments.  For years 7 and 11 the results of these assessments are posted home in the form of an interim report.  It is the schools intention to do this for all year groups from September.

All students have been given individual targets for each subject and they should be aware of what it is they need to do to achieve this target.

This year the school is also monitoring students attitude towards learning.  Teachers will rate each students attitude based on the following scale:

ATL scoring system

1 = Excellent

2 = good

3 = satisfactory

4 = poor

5 = Serious concerns

Students who are highlighted as having a poor attitude towards learning are interviewed by senior members of staff and those that need rewarding receive a letter home in the post.  This process takes place every November and March.

Any parents who would like to speak to a member of staff regarding targets, assessments and ATL should direct any calls to the Director of learning in the first instance.
