Foreword
Year 11 is a very important year for all pupils culminating in their final GCSE exams.
Throughout the course of the year all students are closely monitored to ensure they reach their academic targets that are set in year 10. A number of students have mentors who talk to the pupils and give advice and guidance in all areas of development.
Parents are fully informed of progress made by their children at regular intervals and the school envisages a partnership between pupil, school, and parent working together to ensure maximum achievement. Review days and parent's evenings aid this process
Within their Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship education lessons they do a lot of work in careers to prepare them for life after school.
Staff give up time at lunch time, after school, and holidays to provide extra revision classes for GCSE courses.
After the last exam, usually early July, there is a leaving Prom, which this year is at Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham.
Boldon School is a caring school which aims to develop the whole child and opportunities are also available to take part in sport, music, drama, and other extra activity visits and activities.
Let's work together to ensure all children reach their true potential and make a success of their time at Boldon.
